Arrival Protocols & Home Safety

This home is maintained to certified clean standards. To protect that environment — for yourself and for the guests who come after you — we ask everyone who stays here to follow a few simple arrival protocols. Whether you are traveling from across the country or staying close to home near Boise, Idaho, these protocols exist to protect the space for every guest.

Packing from home

If your home has experienced any water damage, mold, or suspected mold — or if you are simply being cautious — please follow these steps when packing:

  • Pack all clothing and soft goods in sealed plastic bags before leaving home

  • Do not pack books, cardboard boxes, upholstered items, stuffed animals, or other porous materials from a mold-affected environment

  • Electronics and hard-surface items from mold-affected homes should be wiped down with alcohol wipes before bringing inside

When you arrive
  • Remove shoes immediately at the front door. A designated shoe area is provided at the entry. Outdoor footwear carries mold spores, allergens, and contaminants that can compromise the home's clean environment.

  • Take sealed clothing bags directly to the laundry room. Do not unpack them into drawers or closets first.

  • Wash all clothing before wearing or storing. Use the fragrance-free detergent provided, with the addition of borax or EC3 Laundry Additive (provided) to neutralize any mold spores. Both are available in the laundry room.

Fragrance free & non-toxic home

Please do not bring or use any of the following inside the home:

  • Perfume, cologne, or scented lotions

  • Scented candles, incense, or oil diffusers

  • Plug-in air fresheners or aerosol sprays

  • Scented cleaning products or laundry detergent

Cleaning supplies and detergents are provided along with shampoo, conditioner and soap. If you bring additional products, please ensure they are fragrance free and non-toxic.

Non-Toxic Cleaning

Only the cleaning products provided in the home may be used. Please do not bring your own chemical cleaners, disinfectant sprays, or scented products. If you need to clean something during your stay, the supplies under the kitchen sink and in the laundry room are all approved for use in this home.
